Description: This is a Carl Hardesty family of bird that I got from local breeder Richard Massamino. He is a 20 to 30 feet, frequent performer and always safe. The only problem is, he is little bigger for a roller and therefore his rolls are not as fast as I like them to be. However, he is a very safe and reliable performer and scored lots of points for me during the NBRC roller fly competitions. I bred about 10 babies out of him, and all of them were either hawked or rolled down and kill themselves. He is also heterozygous web foot, and produced two of springs with the web foot so far. Year: 2009 |
Gender: Cock |
 |
| Color: Indigo Bar |
Band: NBRCY515-09 |
|
Description: He is another Smith/Plona family that I got from Jeff Matt. He developed too early and crashed within 2 months. After being cooped for number of months he came out of rolling down and became an excellent individual performer. He is fast, frequent, but having hard time staying with the kit as he tends to roll more often than the rest. When he is in top condition, he is very fun to watch as he averages at least two 30 to 40 feet rolls in every minute. I took a chance to use him as wild-card in the 2011 NBRC 11 bird competition. He stayed with the kit majority of the time and scored lots of points for me. I will keep as a breeder and use his performing genes in my color and performance breeding projects. | Color: Ash Red Checker Badge |
Band: NBRCD0773-08 |
|
Description: This is 514 Pensom family bird that I go from Mackie… although she is not a roll down, she rolls and crashes inside of my coop. I really like the type of this bird and decided not fly her. I mated her with number of safe but fast and deep cock birds and only 25% of the babies survived or did not become a roll down. Most babies have become 50 feet or better performers and nearly 50% of them rolled down from at least 70 feet height to their last and deadly rolls. All of her babies did not developed fully until at least 6 months of age. I will continue to breed her but to a 10 to 20 feet fast and frequent cock birds to find a balance between competition rolling and deep, but less frequent and dangerous performance. Breed: Turkish Tumbler - Ankara |
Year: 2005 |
Gender: Cock |
 |
| Color: Black (Arap) |
Band: OX007-05 |
|
Description: He is an excellent tumbler, but unable to fly for being kept in the coop for long time. Most of the good bloodlines of Turkish Tumblers can’t fly to perform anymore if they are kept in loft for breeding or during hawk season. He is now known as the coop tumbler as he only tumbles inside the coop. The offspring of this bird should be great performers as well. This bird was sent to me from Muhammet Erdal, a master breeder in Massachusetts. He is coming from a well know family known as Ak Paca (white boots) and he can also be carrying shell crest because some of this family of birds known for that trait as well. Last updated: 1/2/2011

Year: 2006 |
Gender: Cock |
 |
| Color: Black Front Crested (Ön Tepe Arap) |
Band: OX015-06 |

Description: This bird is my best Turkish Takla performer. He flies over an hour and puts 4 or 5 tight combinations together. He pulls himself upwards about 20 feet or more. He flies longer and puts more combinations together every time I fly him. As he gets more endurance to fly preferable 2 hours or more he will be an excellent tumbler. He is also one of my top breeders and I could say he is my foundation cock bird for the Ankara family. I am very happy with the babies I’ve raised from him and he is contributing a lot to my front crested Ankara family that I am working on. Last updated: 1/2/2011

Breed: Turkish Tumbler Ankara |
Year: 2007 |
Gender: Cock |
 |
| Color: Lavender (Kirli) |
Band: NPAKE601-07 |
|
Description: This bird is very special for me. He is the first pigeon I’ve ever raised and trained in USA. He was hatched in July 8 2007. It’s too bad the hawk got his sister who was a dun with white flights. He is an average tumbler as he doesn’t charge the coop the way I like my Turkish Tumblers to perform. Instead, he prefers to perform in higher altitudes but does put 3 or 4 combinations together and sometimes lands with tumbles. He is a spread ash lanvender and got this color from his recessive white father and spread dun mother. He produces ash red bar and ash yellow (limonlu) offspring when mated to color birds but produce recessive white when mated to recessive white hens. Last updated: 1/6/2011

Breed: Turkish Tumbler - Mardin |
Year: 2008 |
Gender: Hen |
 |
| Color: Milky Bar Honey Chest |
Band: NPAHN978-08 |
|
Description: She is coming from great parents but I never trained her to fly as she is the only milky bar honey chest I have left. I’ve decided to use her as a breeder when I lost a lot of honey chest Mardin family to the hawks. Mardin being the bigger size birds of the Turkish Tumblers strains makes them easier pray for the hawks to catch. I am pretty confident about the offspring she would produce and their performance. Description: He was born with a very unique wing problem. One of his wings had a space between his primary flight feathers and his secondary flight feathers. Maybe one of the flight feathers did not grow properly but made his wing dropped for few months. I didn’t think he would be able to fly but he did. He was young and he was trying to tumble when I locked him for the hawk season. It will be interesting to see how good of a tumbler he will be after the hawk season. Last updated: 1/2/2011

Breed: Turkish Tumbler Mardin |
Year: 2009 |
Gender: Cock |
 |
| Color: Powder Blue Check - Front Crested |
Band: NPADA954-09 |
|
Description: This bird is showing a front crest because of his mother and grandmother as far as I know. He must be carrying front crest from his father side as well, because the front crest, also known as beak crest, is a recessive trait that both parents must donate in order for offspring to show it. I flew him for a month or two and decided to spare him from the hawks as he is one of the few front crested Mardin tumblers I have in my loft. He wasn’t tumbling when I decided to keep him as a breeder so I can’t tell much about his performing ability. Last updated: 1/2/2011

Description: He is one of the best birds I’ve raised and fly in my loft. He has a very special color and I believe it is smoky milky. He is also showing a gimple factor (Honey Chest or in Turkish it is called Göğsü Ballı). He also has about 8 white tail feathers which looks nice in the air.
